France Telecom are launching Sosh, a new brand for low-cost mobile telecommunication services. Costs will be reduced by not subsidising phones and only doing sales online. The new brand targets young people between 18-35 who are active on social networks. With profiles on most major social networking sites, the brand intends to engage its costumers in the mobile "Soshiety".
The name is said to be an abbreviation of "social" or "socialize". Most communication from Sosh features lively imagery of active young people. The logo, a simple wordmark in a slanted rectangle, can take on different fresh and lively colours.
Yesterday, September 7, saw some sort of brand launch with a press conference, although the new brand has been known for over a month, and the service launch is scheduled for October.
