New logo: El Dorado Airport

The El Dorado International Airport in Bogotá is the largest airport in Colombia. In late August, the company that manages the airport unveiled a new airport logo. Colombian media are reporting that it was created by Vladimir Flórez, a.k.a. Vladdo. Although known in Colombia as a cartoonist and satirist, he has a background in graphic design.

The logo has caused much discussion, both in the form of serious critique from fellow designers and less serious internet ridicule, including a dedicated Tumblr page.

An article about Vladdo's design process can be found here (in Spanish, but with images).
