MTV Finland: MTV3
Yesterday, November 3, saw the launch of the company-wide rebrand for Finnish commercial broadcaster MTV, created with British broadcast design agency DixonBaxi. Today we'll take a look the full package in three posts. This second post on the MTV rebrand looks at the work done for the main channel, MTV3, and the company's genre brands for news and sports.

Idents are made up of snippets from four different activities involving groups of people. Reflecting a strategy where MTV3 is "the place for mass participation and pure moments of elation, connection and wonder for all Finns", the visually stunning scenes have been dubbed "Pier Leap", "Colour Party,", "Roller Derby" and "Bubble Battle". As a connection to the owl logo that has been discarded with this rebrand, an animated "wingbeat" signature is used to reveal the logo.
DixonBaxi also transformed MTV's news and sports programmes into brands of their own with unique sets of colour-coded graphics.
