CoInvestor is a financial technology start-up that has created an investment platform for investing in alternative alternative assets. Although set up in December 2015, it recently a proper visual identity, created by London-based communications agency Bell Pottinger as part of a complete integrated communications programme which also includes strategy, website design and marketing.
The straight-forward logo has enclosed the first two letters in the company name in a cylinder. This creates an icon representing the collaboration CoInvestor sees as a key part of its business. The logo is supported by imagery featuring investors.

The brand centres on a bold red colour and typography using the font Gotham. The logo features a cylindrical icon, with the first two letters constructed from interlocking circles. These shapes represent the ‘collaboration’ message at the core of the business. The lead colour rubine red features across all communication and was chosen for its connotations of innovation and trust, as well as its ability to standout in a conventional financial sector.
To underpin the visual approach, a set of images of people representative of investors were chosen. Appearing in dark grey tones they help promote the premium and secure nature of the platform, while letting the rubine red provide the charisma of the brand.
Bell Pottinger believes the new branding will help CoInvestor drive greater brand awareness and recognition as it aims to become one of the foremost alternative investments platform in the UK.

In addition to developing the brand, Bell Pottinger were also appointed to implement a fully integrated marketing and communications strategy for CoInvestor, including UX and UI design for its website, media relations and digital marketing support, including PPC, SEO, native advertising, social media and film production.
CoInvestor was launched in December 2015 by founder Charles Owen. Created to be the alternative assets investment platform for sophisticated private investors, it allows investors to build their own portfolios of direct investments by co-investing alongside experienced fund managers on a deal-by-deal basis.
The platform has already attracted top fund managers including Oxford Capital and MMC Ventures, and has just signed a new partnership with Chelverton Asset Management.
