New look: Alpha TV

Alpha TV is one of the larger television networks in Greece, airing a mainstream mix of home-grown programming and imported series. At the end of September, the network introduced a new on-air graphics package, produced by Greek production company Nomint and directed by Tony Zagoraios.

The slick new look makes use of bright colours, simple typography and flat shapes to "express a fresh, optimistic and contemporary identity".

A montage can be seen below (Warning: The music is sweet, but a bit loud):

"Greek TV channel ALPHA approached NOMINT and Tony Zagoraios to redesign and refresh their broadcast identity for the new season. A true whizz of motion-design, Tony Zagoraios, worked closely with designer and long-time collaborator Stavros Kypraios and lead a great team that brought a splash of colour and finesse to Greek TV.

Tony Zagoraios says “This was a wonderful project and we had a (great time)blast working with everyone involved. ALPHA gave us the perfect opportunity to express a fresh, optimistic and contemporary identity. We wanted to create a clean flat look that would communicate the information clearly and also make the channel stand apart”.

NOMINT Athens EP Aristotelis Michailidis says: “We are very proud of this project and we believe it will have a tangible effect for ALPHA. We want to extend a huge thank you to ALPHA’s marketing team for building a truly wonderful and constructive collaboration”.
